Halloween

My Halloween was wonderful! I went with my coworkers from my previous employment at the Durham Regional Police. Therefore we could not just go ask for candy. So we were thoughtful enough to ask the community for non perishable foods to be able to donate them to the Saint Vincent’s kitchen located in south Oshawa. After a long night, we were able to collect a massive collection of canned foods for the awesome people of Saint Vincent’s. I think what really helped was my amazing costume of Wilma from the Flintstones.

Eagle Eye

Eagle Eye is a movie about a super computer gone wrong. The military/government had created this computer in order to track down and get Intel on anyone and anything. This was used to track down bad guys, terrorists, drug dealers, gangs related incidents etc. This was a great movie. It had an amazing story line, it keeps you in suspense throughout the whole movie and once it reaches the end and the whole story develops, you will be amazed by the twisted ending. Shia LaBeouf is the main actor in this movie and he plays an outstanding role. He plays his character really well and you can relate to him and how he is felling in different situations right through this cinematic adventure. This movie is action packed, and has its funny moments. I recommend this to all those who like action movies. Not recommended for little children under the age of 13 simply because they would not find the purpose or meaning of the story

PAN Dinner

On October 23rd I was invited to a very special yearly event called Police Appreciation Night (PAN), where some of the courageous Durham Regional Police officers are recognized and rewarded for their spectacular work and dedication to the force. I was invited because of my position that I worked throughout the summer as a Team Leader for a very special program that the DRPS were running. I addition to this spectacular night, there is a special twist. The Durham Regional Police invited all the 5th graders from elementary schools all across Durham region to write a short essay explaining what the police are doing, how they could do their job better and what their opinions are on the police in general. Then the teachers pick the best one and send it to the Chief of police and his staff. Once they read all the winning essays they pick the best one and the winning student get to become the Chief of police for 1 whole day! As well as invited to participate in various activities such as taking a fight in Air 1 (the helicopter owned by the police), have self defense training and use of force training and much more. It was a night to remember and I can’t wait until next years ceremony.

If I Won The Lottery...

If I was one of the very few people who would win the lottery jackpot of 30 million dollars, I would definitely be one of the happiest boys on the face of this earth. Fist off I would unquestionably store ant least eighty of ninety percent of my earning in a savings account and leave it there for future purposes. For example paying off my house, provide my children and wife with the luxuries they deserve, pay off my children’s bight education. And with the interest that I would have accumulated throughout the years, I would still have plenty of money to go around and be able to spend, wisely! I would take my family of trips around the world so that they have fun and enjoy the sights that the world has to offer.

However that’s in the future. With the ten or twenty percent that wasn’t deposited in the bank, I would go crazy! First of all I would continue my education, because I think that education is very important and is a very important quality that everyone should posses. Afterwards, I would buy myself a crappy car and spend my money fixing it up making it my own. If possible I would send my parents for a second honeymoon to thank them for everything that they taught me and for putting up with me all these years.

Supercharge it or Turbocharge it?

Both mechanisms have one main purpose; to increase the overall power of your vehicle by significantly adding horsepower. However each product functions in complete diverse ways.

What a turbocharger does is that it simply takes in the air and compresses it prior to it being injected into the engine. What this does is that it forces more air into the engine, which means that it would automatically inject more fuel, which in return would increase the power. Turbocharger works off the exhaust emitted from your vehicle. The turbocharger is mounted onto the exhaust manifold, and is driven by the exhaust itself. The way it functions is that on one side of the turbocharger, the exhaust is being rushed through a tube which has in place a turbine inside. As the turbine spins, the air coming in through the air-intake is being compressed and thrust into the engine. Now sometimes, depending on your turbocharger, the air can be compressed to a point where the air travelling into the engine will be going in hot. This will cause the engine to “knock” which can result in internal damage to your motor. To avoid this problem, you can install an, Intercooler, which is a cooling system that is installed between the way OUT of the turbocharger and the way IN the motor (I will provide more information about intercoolers in future posts).

A supercharger does the exact same thing, yet it is operated in a different way. A supercharger is also an add-on to your engine but that is installed differently. A supercharger will usually be installed on top of your engine if possible or to the side. Contrary to the turbocharger, the supercharger is driven by a belt that is coupled to the engine. The good thing about this is that you will get power right away from your supercharger. But on the downside, you do not get all the power promised by the manufacturer. The reason behind this is that it actually takes power from your engine in order to operate the supercharger. Suppose you have 200 horsepower in your stock engine, and you want to add a supercharger that will add 50 horsepower to your engine. You will have to use up an estimated 10 HP in order to drive the supercharger. So theoretically your vehicle will only gain 40 HP.

Audi Develops Race Version of the R8
